Cladding Design

The full façade design package — RIBA Stage 5–6, from approval drawings to production and as-builts. 100+ projects delivered since 2015.

Design is the discipline Roytec was built on. Since 2015 we've delivered the full cladding design package on 100+ projects — taking the architect's intent to a fully coordinated, buildable, installation-ready set. We work across RIBA Stages 5–6: approval drawings, then production drawings, schedules, installation drawings and as-builts — every job overseen by a dedicated design coordinator. BIM-native and ISO 9001: visually true to the architecture, and resolved so it actually builds.

How we work

01

Approval design

We develop the architect's intent into elevations, sections and detail drawings for approval — defining the aesthetic and technical design of the cladding system (Stage 5).

02

Coordinate to Construction Issue

We revise against architect and consultant comments to 'Construction Issue', incorporating setting-out and structural calculations along the way. On fire and cavity barriers we go deep — every bespoke detail is worked through with the system manufacturer and the fire engineer, so the cavity-barrier strategy is manufacturer-verified and fire-engineer-approved, not assumed.

03

Production & schedules

Production drawings for manufacturing, plus full schedules — cladding panels, support structure (sub-grid) and ancillaries (insulation, top-hats, C-channels, fixings, membranes) — so procurement and fabrication run off one coordinated set.

04

Install & as-built

Clear installation and location drawings for the site team, on-site monitoring on request, and as-built drawings on completion (Stage 6).

What you receive

Elevations, sections and detail drawings (approval → Construction Issue)
Fire-barrier, fire-stop, cavity-closer and cavity-compartmentation plans — bespoke details manufacturer-verified and fire-engineer-approved
Setting-out drawings — panel positions, alignment and optimisation
Production drawings for manufacturing
Schedules — cladding panels, support structure and ancillaries
U-value calculations for thermal compliance
Installation, location and as-built drawings
Structurally verified solutions — wind-load, fixing and framing calculations
Document control on your CDE (Asite, Aconex, 4Projects)
Roytec cladding-design BIM model — a corner build-up coordinated to fabrication level: brick, SFS framing, insulation, support rails and windows
A Roytec cladding-design BIM model — coordinated to fabrication level.

What it means for you

A dedicated design coordinator and a fully coordinated, buildable set — backed by £5M professional indemnity and £10M public liability cover — so panels are fabricated and installed from a resolved design, not a hopeful one.
