Why Roytec
From drawing façades to building them.
Most cladding companies start with installation and add design later. We did the opposite — and that changes everything.
Our story
Ten years drawing façades. Now we build them.
Roytec began in 2015 as a technical façade design practice, drawing for some of the UK's largest specialist cladding subcontractors. We drew thousands of panels, coordinated with structural engineers and building control, and solved the thermal bridges, waterproofing details and fire-barrier junctions that make or break a project.
The pattern became clear: the best projects were the ones where design and installation worked hand-in-hand — and the worst were the ones where they didn't talk until it was too late. Main contractors started asking, “can you build it too?”
So we did. By 2023 we were delivering complete Design, Supply & Install packages from £200K to £1.4M+, and main contractors were coming back for repeat work. Design is still our largest and most experienced department — and today 70% of our work comes from repeat clients, which doesn't happen by accident.
The difference
Design heritage meets installation capability.
Design is our deepest team
Ten years drawing façades for other specialist subcontractors built the most experienced design department in the business — it's where Roytec is strongest.
Buildability built in
We don't design details that can't be installed. We've been on site — we know what works before it's drawn.
Coordination before site
Our BIM models catch clashes at design stage, not when your programme is already tight.
One team carries the risk
No finger-pointing between designer and installer. Our design, our installation, our outcome.
Building Safety Act ready
BSA-aware documentation, fire-safety competence and the golden thread are part of our process, not bolt-ons.
Design ahead of the BSR
We're engaged on many projects for design alone — producing the façade engineering main contractors need before Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Gateway submissions on higher-risk buildings.
Accredited, audited, and built to standards.
ISO 9001 in practice
Documented design review, procurement, inspection and handover — audited annually. Not a badge for tenders.
First-time quality culture
Designs reviewed before issue, materials inspected before installation, hold points respected under programme pressure.
RIDDOR-clean H&S record
CDM 2015 competence, method statements that reflect reality, toolbox talks that stick.
